For Students
Business Enterprise programmes offer the flexibility of structure and content to ensure relevance and value to all Key Stage 4 and A Level students. Our Core Skills sessions deliver content around fundamental skills such as teamwork, problem solving and decision making - skills that almost every student will need in everyday life. Our Business Skills sessions focus, in a fun and interactive way, on some of the disciplines found in every business and will be of perhaps greater relevance to students who are already considering business as a potential career path. Business Enterprise programmes typically add greatest value to the curriculum for Year 10 & 12 students.
Upon completion, each student receives a certificate confirming their successful participation in the programme which is typically countersigned by both Business Enterprise and the participating school.
For Teachers
Our programmes are delivered by experienced business people who help to put your own lessons into a wider context. By introducing new people, ideas and resources we support your own teaching by applying practical experience to the theory of the classroom.
Business Enterprise programmes support the work related learning that is statutory for Key Stage 4 students, supporting the Learning Challenges of Planning, Revision and Examination by encouraging structured prior thought and debate and careful time management. Structured review and rehearsal also highlight the critical role of proper preparation whilst each programme provides a forum for success under scrutiny from the Workshop Leader, supervising teacher and the students' own peers.
Business Enterprise programmes also support citizenship education, equipping children and young people with the knowledge, understanding and skills to play an active part in society as informed and critical citizens who are socially and morally responsible. Our programmes give students the confidence and conviction that they can act with others, have influence and make a difference in their communities.
On completion of the programme, students are asked to provide comprehensive feedback - measuring success versus expectations and what skills have been developed or learned. This feedback is made available to participating schools in both a summary and detailed format.
For Parents & Guardians
From the time they first embark upon their GCSE options through to completion of their A Levels, students are expected to demonstrate a higher level of academic maturity and ability to deal with new and difficult challenges; challenges that will push them to communicate effectively in pressured situations, whether a presentation to the class or looking ahead to a University or job interview. Everything we do at Business Enterprise will help to build a student's confidence, self esteem and ability to interact with others as individuals or within a team. Our programmes are structured to support your school's curriculum, and each of our workshops help to improve students' communication, presentation and social interaction. Our work supports the KS4 Learning Challenges:
